About us

The Education Park is a unique one-of-a-kind campus designed to promote the 3Es of social growth in rural areas that is Education, Energy and Economy. Based out of Bhikangaon in Khargone District of Madhya Pradesh, it is a ZERO energy completely solar powered campus. Its passive architecture and orientation is one of its strengths which saves 80% energy and uses solar and wind energy efficiently.

Measuring 14 acres, the Education Park was built on barren land but now has more than 3500 trees which are drip irrigated. This CBSE affiliated school, serves more than 1000 students from 40 surrounding villages and supports them to learn study and excel. The campus also provides training to farmers and youth on solar energy.

  • 1. Formal School education from LKG to 12th standard, with emphasis on high-quality and learning by experience off-the-class-room.
  • 2. Training program for skill development in job oriented vocations and solar-energy.
  • 3. Coaching program in English language, Computer-internet, Competitive examinations, personality development.
  • 4. Conduct workshops and awareness camps for rural community on the topics related to them as agriculture, water, weather and markets.
  • 5. Establish a farmer`s-knowledge center with internet connectivity.
  • 6. Interactive Teaching-Learning sessions through the use of smart class rooms.

The school infrastructure is developed from funds received by way of donations. The school will run on self-sustainable basis as far as possible from the collection of fees.


About us

In rural area quality of education is very poor due to many reasons. A student trained in government schools in rural areas is not able to compete with their counterparts trained in urban schools. Also, most of the people in rural area are economically weak to be able to afford the education of their children in good private schools. As a result, in India, in our current social context, a child born poor is guaranteed to remain poor for life.

The objective of Education Park is to work towards overcoming the limitations of quality education in rural India. This is to be done with the purpose to bring the children of poor economic background to mainstream so that they can compete with others. We believe that by providing an opportunity of high quality education and vocational training in rural areas, we can catalyze the growth of rural areas and hence growth of the country.

Education Park not only runs school for children but also the training programs for adults and elders of the society. The training program would include Farmer’s training, Solar energy training, English language training, Computer training and Professional courses, Vocational training etc. using nearly the same infrastructure.

Current Status of Education Park

The Education Park is now successfully providing education to more than 1000 students coming from over 40 nearby villages. Having done this, now there is an intense focus to promote skill development oriented programs towards job creation. Education Park already has Kisan Urja Training center developed for this purpose. Some skill development programs like solar energy training and farmers training are already going on. Currently 30 participants are taking training on solar system installation under 3 months residential program. Several other skill development program like welding, plumbing, electrician, masonry, brick making, teachers training etc. are planned. Conducting these training programs require development of tool workshop, classrooms as well as accommodation facilities. There is enough space in the campus to develop these facilities.

Our philosophy is to add infrastructure to Education Park from donations and take fee from students (school operation) and participants (training center operation) for running the infrastructure. With this philosophy sustainability of the project can be ensured.

Due to non-profit nature of the Education Park, all the students are getting subsidized education, but especially some students coming from very weak economic background are getting additional subsidy. This ensures that we take care of all sections of the society and everybody gets opportunity to utilize the resources created at Education Park (kindly see Education Park- Concept and current status August 2016.

With this purpose the Education Park is being set which will focus on three main areas: • Education (targeted by providing high quality education) • Economy (targeted by providing high quality training) • Energy (targeted by using and promoting solar energy)


World economies are increasingly knowledge based. Skilled manpower plays key role in one’s self and nation’s development. Still about 60% population lives in rural area. Government education does not provide quality & Private education is expensive.

Providing affordable quality education and training is important for betterment of disadvantaged. Cost of education can be kept low if the organization is not for profit. Education Park is a non-profit organization.


Education Park runs different training programs. There is an intense focus to promote skill development oriented programs towards job creation. The School Infrastructure provides natural environment to the students and in a wy teaches students to minimize the use and dependency on energy. Education Park is completely built on solar passive architecture. The School requires relatively much lesser energy for its operation. The required energy for running computers, printer etc. is generated using Solar Photo Voltaic technology. There are more than 13.5 kW Solar PV modules installed in campus, the roof of training center is a solar roof. The panel powers computers, printer, water pumping, fans and lights (in few rooms).

About us

Dr. Chetan Singh Solanki is currently professor in Department of Energy Science and Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB), India. He is an expert crystalline Si technology, Si-nanostructures (including quantum dots), thin film Si solar cells, PV concentrator systems and carbon nanotubes. He received his Ph.D. degree from the specialist silicon laboratory, IMEC (Inter-university Micro-electronics Center, Ketholik University, Leuven, Belgium).

He won an EMRS (European Material Research Society) young scientist award in 2003 and IIT Bombay Young Investigator Award in 2009. He has also been awarded at several international conferences for research papers. He has authored several books in the area of renewable energy, one of them is on solar PV which is titled as Solar Photovoltaics: Fundamentals, Technologies and Applications (ISBN: 978-81-203-3760-2). One other book in renewable energy area is titled as Renewable Energy Technologies: a practical guide for beginners (ISBN:978-81-203-3434-2). This book is also translated in Hindi. The Hindi book recently got the first prize from Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Govt. of India. Recently published book is titled as Solar Photovoltaic: A manual for technicians, trainers and engineers, is being translated in 5 regional languages. He has filed 9 Indian patents, 2 US patents and holds three US patents (patent no. 6649485, patent no. 964732, patent no. 7022585) and filled 4 Indian patent applications. He has published over 50 research papers in international journals and conferences on solar photovoltaic.

He has worked on several sponsored projects by government as well as companies. The projects are focused on crystalline Si solar cells both wafer based as well as thin film nano materials based. Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has sponsored a project titled as National Center for Photovoltaic Research and Education (NCPRE) of worth 47.5 Cr, where he is one of the Principle Investigators. Currently he is working on projects sponsored by Applied Materials, MCIT, MNRE.

He has given short term courses on solar PV technologies for companies like Applied Materials, Mahagenco, TataBP Solar and BEL. Dr. Solanki acted as principal consultant for TUV Sud for 125 MW PV power plant of Mahagenco, which is currently Indias largest PV power plant. He has also provided consultancy on solar PV to several organizations. Dr. Solanki is member of green committee of IIT Bombay and initiated to a project to install 1 MW of solar PV plant at IIT Bombay.

He is in the five member national committee on Special Incentive Package Scheme (SIPS) of DIT, Govt. of India for technical evaluation of solar PV projects. Dr. Solanki is member of Review Committee of Technology and Products for Solar Energy Utilization through Networking (TAPSUN), a project of CSIR labs where more than 150 scientists are involved.

In order to ensure that solar light is reaching to each and every student a project names 1 Million Solar Urja Lamp (SOUL) has been initiated where Dr. Solanki is PI of project (www.millionsoul.iitb.ac.in). The project intends to provide solar lamps to 1 Million students through localization of solar energy.

Dr. Solanki has recently incubated a solar company names kWatt Solutions Pvt at IIT Bombay incubation center, Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The company focuses on economizing renewable to make it affordable.

At social front as well Dr. Solanki has taken several initiatives. He is founder member and Chairman of Education Park (Is An Effort for Providing High Quality, Affordable Education & Training in Rural India. For more detail click on www.edupark.org). The Education Park is based on sustainable principles, its infrastructure is design as per solar passive architecture and the premises completely run on solar PV e only. He also founded New Energy Foundation (www.nenf.org) which is focusing on promoting renewable energy in rural India. During his doctoral study he has founded ROSE (Rose an Organization for Supporting Education). The ROSE is registered in Belgium and working for the cause of education in rural India.

He is also a very effective speaker.He is well known social worker of Bhikangaon.He is also providing a lot of Job opportunities to the rural youth in Education Park and his other business Work. In this way he is playing the key role to over-come the unemployment problem of a small region of India. It is a great effort against unemployment.

He is providing the High quality, affordable education and training in Rural India.Technically he is very sound he also conducting Training workshop for activity based learning and teaching. He always says to the teacher:- "Teacher is a learner and a learner is a teacher" .He always believes to keep learning and Come Forward to face the critical and horrible problems of life.

Designing and executing India's first Zero Energy School Campus on 14 acre land at Bhikangaon, Madhya Pradesh (Phase 3 completed), Consultant for Solar Passive Architecture for tallest temple in South India (approx. 500' high and 12 lakh sft built-up area), Architect for Sun Solar State – a training centre for solar applications on a 5 acre campus.

Consultant for Energy Conservation Techniques and PDEC Wind Tower System on Indias First Public Building (IGP-Gulbarga) to be awarded LEED Gold Rating by USGBC. One of the first few passive cooled buildings in the world to be awarded such a rating.

Worked on India's first demonstration buildings for Solar Passive Architecture i.e. Commercial Bank Building at Shimla and 200 Bed Hospital at Rampur with Ar. Ashok B. Lall. Simultaneously, worked on SOS village at Dehradun involving low cost and green building design. Worked on Integration of Green Building Technologies for the National Institute of Design, Gandhinagar with Ar. Sen Kapadia.

Received runners up trophy at IAD Awards - 2008 for Green building design of an IT Complex at Mumbai (NSC, Encase India).

Published number of papers at national and international conferences and journals pertaining to thermal performance and design of buildings in Indian Climatic Conditions. Have been jury member for Architectural Competitions at Premier Institutions to select best eco-friendly designs of students as well as professionals. Given lectures as expert speaker at seminars organised by TERI-Griha and IGBC-India.

Shri Bharat Jhawar is State President of Shri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation of MP & CG . He was born in a philanthropist family of Late Shri A L Jhawar Advocate in Khandwa in 1962. His father had the rare opportunity to receive the Prestigious National award in the field of Child Welfare from the then President of India Shri R Venkatraman for and on behalf of an Orphanage named “Hindu Bal Seva Sadan Khandwa”. Shri Jhawar is also presently one of the member of Governing board of this prestigious institute.

He passed his Chartered Accountancy from Mumbai and is running his CA firm since 1988. He is also a Law Graduate and received his Diploma in “Information System Audit” from prestigious ICAI New Delhi. Apart from his professional achievement Shri Jhawar has been associated with many social works few of them are as follows:

a) Honorary secretary of “Keshav Seva Dham” a home of Physically challenged boys since last more than 20 years. His services were recognized by Govt of India also and was nominated as one of the 5 members delegation to Japan for studying working of social organizations in Japan and other south Asian Countries.

b) He is Vice President of “Education Park Society” a Not for Profit organization which runs a CBSE school in Bhikangaon where students from more than 32 villages of Khargone dist get high quality but affordable education. With the help of Govt of MP this society has made available Solar Study lights to more than 21000 students of many villages who otherwise had to use kerosene lamps for their studies in villages.

Technology Methodology

At Education Park School, we use 'Traditional' as well as 'Modern' methods to teach student for better learning.

Traditional Method

Traditional Method relies on explicit teaching through lectures and teacher-led demonstrations. It is the primary teaching strategy in which teachers are the sole supplier of knowledge and information. This method of teaching is effective in teaching basic and fundamental skills across all content areas.

Modern Method

On the other hand, Modern Method promotes literacy and development of life skills, social skills, thinking skills etc. It includes different techniques of evaluations, Portfolio development, Lesson planning, and lots of activity based learning. It will not only improve student’s learning skills but also promotes lifelong learning skills.
